A Good Way To Wash Your Equipment. Sort of. Well, not really.

Our story of opening for Creed yesterday begins with Kingsfoil driving the wrong way down a one way street (for the second time in the same weekend!). It ends on the same road, driving away from the Hershey Stadium before any bands played a note. We knew things would get interesting when we were standing backstage and Tim got word that there was a severe thunderstorm warning for our area. No dark clouds yet. Surely, if there WAS going to be a storm, we would watch it split up and go right around the Sweetest Place on Earth. Right? Fast forward 20 minutes and everybody is holding onto their equipment for dear life. Hurricane Hershey was pummeling us, and lightning was striking all around the huge metal lighting rod called the Star Pavillion. As the storm let up, the technical guys told us we might as well eat because there was a lot of water that needed to be squeegeed away before we could do a thing. At this point, we are feeling okay and are looking forward to a pretty sweet catered feast fit for any rock tour that uses 7 tractor trailers. We ate light while hunkered under the safety of the bleachers, and then took our spots with our gear waiting to take the stage. And then we waited, and waited some more. Then, just as the sun poked through the clouds, the tour manager brought us our bad news. “Sorry guys, it’s just not going to work”. And you know what, he was right. By this time, the show was at least an hour behind with setup and still, the sound crew was working like madmen to put the pieces back together. As a band, we all know that many fans were there to support us, and that means more than any amount of time on stage. We cannot begin to express our sorrow and appreciation for the folks who gave their time, money, and efforts to make it to Hershey to be there for us. There is really no blame to go around other than to the forces of nature that brought their A game to the show. Once again, we truly are grateful for the opportunity and for the support our awesome fans showed. Let’s hope next time goes a little smoother.
